Around 1817 Théodore Géricault painted the portrait of young Alfred De Dreux. In 1922 this portrait came up for sale with the title Le roi de Rome. The roi de Rome was Napoleon's son, which would make it a much desired portrait. Did you know that Napoleon was also known as L'aigle?
